Testimonials:

"I first met Jane as a student in one of her obedience classes in 1998.  I found Jane to be very relaxed, easy going and enthusiastic while instructing me and my extremely hyper Australian Shepherd puppy.  Jane then taught us the sport of flyball with the same enthusiasm.  Eleven years after our first class, I’ve searched out Jane’s experience for my second dog.  Jane is still the friendly, encouraging trainer that I remember.  She listens intently to assess your situation and implements the most appropriate training techniques for you and your canine companion.  Over the years, Jane has also broadened her knowledge by attending many canine seminars.  I would recommend Jane Smith to friends and family for their canine training needs."

I first met Jane when I took my 8 week old Border Collie, Maggie, to Puppy Kindergarten and then to Obedience Classes.  We were then introduced to the idea of Flyball to channel the high energetic drive of a Border Collie into a rewarding activity for us both.  Jane then brought another wonderful Border Collie into my life.   Quinn was rescued from someone’s swimming pool and close to drowning.  After many weeks of searching unsuccessfully for his owner Jane started looking for his forever home.  Well a year later I now have 2 dogs in flyball training, under Jane’s guidance and along the journey I found a wonderful new friend.

Jane always approaches any aspect of training with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, which brings out the best in the dog’s performance.  She has a great compassion for all animals and believes in gentle training methods and positive reinforcement.

If you are looking to raise your dog with a positive, healthy attitude, to be part of your family, Jane is the trainer for you.

I met Jane eight years ago when I rescued my first dog Brandi. Jane taught Brandi’s obedience training and I have to say that Brandi was quite stubborn.  She was not responding well to being food trained so Jane introduced us to her Tuxedo Tugs.  From that class on Brandi would do anything to get that tug.

Even though it took us a little longer to get Brandi to respond Jane never gave up on us.  Brandi then joined Jane under her coaching of flyball.  Brandi thrived on this.  She has loved the sport from day one.  She loves to race and get her Tug at the end as her reward.

Jane helped turn this very young, neglected, and scared pup become a perfect family pet, and a great flyball dog earning her 40,000 title and still averaging 4.2 second at eight years old.

Thanks for helping me get Brandi through some tough times.

Jane helped me get my second dog Cruzer.  Her Jackpot is the father of my Border collie.  Cruz has been one of the best additions to my life.  He is my happy spot, my best friend and gives the best cuddles.  I have a connection with him like no other.

I have been through both obedience and flyball training with Jane and Cruz and he has excelled in both.  Cruz has become a very stable and reliable flyball dog with his ONYX title now earned.  He loves Jane and always has a special cry of excitement and a kiss for her.

She has also helped me be introduced to Homeopathic Medicine for my pets, cooking my own food for my dogs and using different training techniques.

I now have my third addition to my family who Jane also helped me get.  I have a littler mate to her MOY.  Dugan is currently being taught beginners flyball by Jane and he has also has done some socialization with her.

Thanks Jane for leading me towards my two beautiful boys and training all of my babies.  You have given me a happy home full of enriched dogs and family additions.

I've been working with Jane and flyball for the past 6 years.  She continues to help me train all my dogs in a happy and positive way.  She knows how to deal with individual problems and is constantly upgrading her skills.  I would recommend Jane for any type of situation.

This is Benny, my sweet beagle, whom I adopted from S.H.A.I.D animal shelter. I work at the shelter and we recommend Jane's class to the people who adopt dogs from us. I decided that Benny and I would take one of Jane's to see what it was like. We loved it. It was not only very fun but we learned many new things. Jane's class focus' on useful everyday stuff to help you train your dog into becoming a well mannered companion in and out of your home.
Benny and I had so much fun that we will be signing up for an advanced class.

Jane:

Just wanted to let you know that Stella took part in her first 5k run
(more accurately a walk/run) today in Caledonia.  We had a great time
(came in last!)  It was a joy to participate with her -- for a very
social 6 month old Jack, she is very well behaved.

I want to thank you for helping us get on the right track.  It is a
long journey and your guidance has made all the difference.

I have taken my energetic little fellow to Ditto’s training – obedience and socialization classes with great success.

He is such a smart and busy little one year old and I needed to learn how to teach him to behave.

Axl is a happy little yorkie/shitzhu with a very big attitude and has had to learn it is not always about him.

He loves people and is not afraid to try anything once.
I have learned to teach him many tricks at these classes and he is so proud to show them off to everyone he meets…. Jane has taught me how to teach him and he will pretty much learn anything

Including so far… sit, stay, down, stay, come when called (almost 99% of the time on the first try), roll over, up nice, go to his bed, get…. (many things by name), show me….., wave, high 5, watch, and the list seems to grow daily.  We are still learning the ‘no barking’ thing… but the ‘no biting’ thing is finally good….

He will do almost anything for the right treat and for praise.

I thank Jane’s wonderful methods and her way with dogs and especially their owners.

Axl was even the smallest in the socialization class – 5 big dogs and by the time he got through it he was no longer running away from them J

We have learned so much in the two classes we have taken and if I can squeeze more time in 2012 into my schedule I’m sure Axl would love more classes…. Perhaps advanced tricks or flyball is next.

Belle came to us through an Australian Shepherd Rescue group. She was 4 years old and had been in  quite a few homes and being used for breeding. When she arrived she was terrified of small spaces, didn’t seem to know any commands and would be fear aggressive with other dogs.  I worked with her for about a year and was able to teach her lots of basic obedience but her reaction to dogs was still a problem. So I enrolled in the basic obedience class. It taught her to focus on me no matter what was going on around her and to ignore other dogs. It was helpful to brainstorm with Jane in terms of various situations.

This is one of my favourite photos of her because it shows her joy- something that took a long time to emerge.

We first met Jane in 2009 when we got our cocker spaniel puppy, Dio. We attended the level-one obedience classes with him and it was very helpful, as well as a lot of fun. It was a great way to socialize our puppy while getting on the right track with obedience training---more so for us than the dog.

Two years later we rescued Maddie---a high energy border collie mix---from the local shelter; we approached Jane to help us once again. We've definitely had a positive experience through these classes and both us and our dogs have benefited from them.

We always recommend Jane's classes to family and friends with training questions, and we hope to participate in more of Jane's classes in the future.

I've known Jane for over 20 years, and have always appreciated her kind and gentle approach to training animals.
My dog, Flossie, and I have done obedience levels one and two with Jane, and it's always an enjoyable experience for dog and owner alike.
Anyone who has taken a course of Jane's will tell you that she really knows her stuff, and she really knows your dog!
She's dedicated, professional and approachable, I highly recommend her for obedience, fly-ball, or any other class she has to offer.

Thanks Jane!

I have two fairly well adjusted sheepdogs because of you.

The American Kennel Club describes the breed having "a clownish energy"
By taking them to classes and working on their brains as well as their bodies keeps them controllable.

This makes for fun loving dogs without all the naughty antics.

I met Jane in 2010, when I enrolled Echo into Flyball classes.  Jane's feel-good energy and positive training methods made the class exceptionally fun, challenging and worthwhile.  Echo responded well to her teachings and progressed through the class better than I anticipated.

Over the past two years, my experiences with Ditto's C.L.C. has lead me to continue to enrol in classes and to recommend her classes to friends, family and veterinary clients.

I cannot thank Jane enough for her patience, constructive guidance and the high-quality training she provides at Ditto's Canine Learning Centre!

I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the classes Rosie and I have attended.  We have enjoyed them all!

When 10 week old Border Collie Rosie bounded into our lives last summer we knew we would need some advice to help direct her energy and enthusiasm for life. As soon as I read Ditto's website and spoke to you on the phone I knew that I had found the classes for us.

Since then we have participated in Puppy Class, Obedience Levels One and Two, Socialization Class and, most favourite of all for Rosie, Fly-ball Lessons! Your enthusiasm, knowledge and love of dogs always ensures that we both have fun but are challenged at the same time.

I know we will be back to attend more classes in the future!

I have also attached my favourite photos of Rosie - she had been digging in the garden and was absolutely flithy and loving it! :) I hope you enjoy the photo as much as we do!

Pet ownership is huge responsibility. Often we tend to blame man's best friend when something goes awry, however if they haven't been properly instructed then its not reasonable to expect them to understand. The bottom line is that dogs learn from their environments much like children,
the responsibility rests with the owner.

In 2010 I started working with Jane Smith of Dittos and she has helped me in developing a well behaved dog in Lynyrd and understanding that in the end it is the owner who needs the obedience training. I have found that Jane's basic and easygoing approach to training is well received by my dog
and myself.

Aside from the educational aspect, the learning environment is welcoming and comfortable for dog and owner.

I would recommend Jane Smith and Ditto's Canine Learning Centre to anyone who has a dog, whether it be a new or experienced dog owner.
